The Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge closes April 15, but there's still time for students in grades 5-8 to enter for a chance to be named America's Top Young Scientist.  Students just need to upload a quick 1-2 minute video on a science topic found on the site. Don't delay: The deadline to submit a video is Friday, April 15, 2011. Prizes include $25,000, a special summer mentorship with world-renowned 3M scientists, a trip to 3M's global headquarters to attend the competition's final events, and much more.

Former Justice Sandra Day O'Connor

Fulmore proudly  announced the visit of one of Texas' own citizens and legendary Supreme Court justices, Ms. Sandra Day O'Connor.  In 1981 she became the first woman to sit on our nation's Supreme Court.  Appointed by President Reagan, Ms. O'Connor withstood much criticism from liberals and conservatives alike. In time, people began to see a pattern throughout her tenure with the highest court in the land; she was a person who lent great balance and wisdom to the Supreme Court.  To read shortened versions of  her positions on some of the cases that came before her, visit the Oyez web site and surf the years from 1981 to  2006. We look forward to seeing her next month.
