Fulmore proudly announced the visit of one of Texas' own citizens and legendary Supreme Court justices, Ms. Sandra Day O'Connor. In 1981 she became the first woman to sit on our nation's Supreme Court. Appointed by President Reagan, Ms. O'Connor withstood much criticism from liberals and conservatives alike. In time, people began to see a pattern throughout her tenure with the highest court in the land; she was a person who lent great balance and wisdom to the Supreme Court.
