Good Morning, There has been questions if we moved forward with the HUB plan for this year because some routes and stops changed. I am hoping the explanation below will help everyone. Every school year stops and times may change due to new students being added or leaving the magnet programs. This is a routine procedure every year. We are not creating routes and stops based on the HUB plan that was proposed for this school year. Magnet students are transported from all over the district and creating additional stops will add to students travel time to school and may also cause delays arriving to schools. We always try to create stops for magnet routes that are best served for all students in a neighborhood. Below are the guidelines for creating bus stops posted on the main AISD website. Bus Stop Walk Range The bus stop walk range is defined as the maximum walking distance from a student’s residential address to the student’s assigned stop location. The stop range for Elementary School students is one quarter mile, for Middle School students it is one half mile, and for High School students it is one mile. The stop range for cross-town busing to Magnet Schools or Academies may be longer, due to time constraints, and bus passenger capacity. Landmark locations, such as AISD school campuses, may be used to accommodate the most students possible in a timely and efficient manner. Thanks & Be safe 3908 Avenue B #210 Austin, Tx 78751
